How to Updating/Correcting your Address online in aadhaar card
Details which can be updated online in aadhaar –
If your address in aadhaar card is different from the address in which you are living, or you shifted to the new address, and you have the valid proof than you can update it by your own means you can change it online and for all other details, you have to visit AADHAR Enrollment/Update Centre.
Below is the process of updating your address in aadhar card online or correcting your address online in aadhaar card
Updating/Correcting your Address online in aadhaar card :
1- Open UIDAI UIDAI OFFICIAL WEBSITE.
2- After opening The UIDAI website click on Update Your Address under update your Aadhaar column which you will find in My Aadhaar
3-Aadhaar SSUP (Self Service Update Portal ) page will open. On this page, you will found two options first is Update your address online, and second is if you don’t have valid address proof, then UIDAI will send a validation letter to your that address to verify. This validation letter will have a secret code. This secret code will be used for Address updation.
4 – Click on Proceed to update address under update your address online
. After clicking, a new page will open. Log in here by entering your 12 digit aadhaar number and enter captcha then click on send OTP. Or you may either send TOTP. You will receive a 6/8 digit one-time password on your registered mobile number.
5- After entering OTP, click on login. After login you get two options first is if you have address proof with you or second, you have received a secret code that you have received through the Address validation letter.
6- After clicking on Update Address via Address Proof. You will be asked to enter the address which you want to update, and you have valid proof of that address with you.
7- After entering your Updated address, it will ask to edit or submit.
8 – After clicking on submit. It will ask for the upload of documents which you have with you as an address of proof. Scan copy of Valid address proof and then upload it and click on submit.
9- 14–digit URN will be generated, which will further help you in checking the status of address updation.
If you don’t have address proof, then you need not worry UIDAI gives you another method to update your address in aadhaar. In this method, you have to make a request for an Address validation letter.
Update address via Address validation letter
1 – Click on Update Address via Address validation letter
2 – After opening this link Click on Request for Address Validation Letter
3- Enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number, captcha, and click on send OTP to TOTP.
4- Enter Verifier Address means the address on which your Validation letter will be sent. The verifier can be anyone that means it can be your relative—friends, landlord, etc. The address of the verifier must be registered in his/her aadhaar.
5- Address verifier will receive a link on his/her mobile number registered in the Aadhaar card. Clicking on that link will directly take a verifier to the aadhar login page. After the login Address verifier gives his/, her consent it means he is giving permission to use his/her address to be updated in the resident’s address.
6- After the confirmation of the verifier resident will receive a confirmation message on mobile. Residents will log in with SRN, preview the address and click on submit a request.
7- A few days later, the resident will receive a letter on verifier address containing secret code through the post
8- Login again on the self-service update portal. After login click on Update address via secret code
9- Review your new updated address and submit a request. You will receive the UN for checking status in the future.
Details which can be updated offline
All details like a name change, photo on aadhaar card, address, DOB, Gender, Mobile Number, E-mail can be updated offline via Aadhaar enrollment centers. Children turned up 15 can update biometric details like Finger Prints, Iris, and photographs
UIDAI has authorized BANKS/POST OFFICES for enrollment of new aadhaar card and updation of aadhaar card.
How to update name in aadhar card
1- Visit the AADHAR enrollment center
2- There, you will get the update form. Fill that aadhaar updation form
3- Enter your updated name in updation form
4- Submit that updation form along with proof of name change
5- Representative at the enrollment center will process your request
6- You will receive an acknowledgment slip after this, and you have to pay the fees of Rs25 for this.
To Update/Change Photo in Aadhaar Card
1- Visit the Aadhaar Enrollment center
2- Fill the updation form
3- Give the submitted to the representative. A representative will capture your photo
4- Get the slip of reference number from him and pay fees of Rs 25
5- Your photo will be updated in a few days.
